I went to Northern Illinois University for the majority of my undergrad where I also ran cross country and track. I transferred to Carson-Newman University my senior year where I graduated with a degree in English with a minor in sociology. I then went to Carson-Newman and received my Masters of Arts in Teaching English grades 7-12 with an endorsement in Teaching English Second Language. While at Carson-Newman, I was also the Graduate Assistant Coach for the cross country and track team. I am currently halfway through my EdS in Curriculum & Instruction at Liberty University.

I am in my third year of teaching at East High. I taught Sophomore English my first year. I have spent the last two years in the Freshman Academy and began teaching Honors English this year. I student taught 8th grade at Holston Middle School and 9th grade at Austin-East Magnet High School.
