Registration forms available online beginning this summer!

Registering your child or children for the 2017-2018 in Hamblen County Schools has never been easier.
No need to fill out paperwork packets for each student.
You can now register on-line, beginning in mid-July.

“With PowerSchool Registration, parent/guardians can conveniently enroll and register their children online,” said Harold Jones, supervisor of technology.”   

“Parent/Guardians were spending a lot of time managing paperwork every year and PowerSchool registration allows Hamblen County Schools to improve efficiency for both the parent/guardian and district, and provide accuracy of student data by the first day of school,” he said.

The online registration allows families who have more than one child in the district to conveniently duplicate data from one child's form to their other children’s forms.   
“This should help reduce the amount of time a parent/guardian takes on filling forms out for their children for each of their schools,” Jones said.  

For returning students, PowerSchool Registration collects data based on previously entered information and allows the parent to update any information that may have changed without having to complete a full "registration packet.”

The data submitted by families is reviewed, polished, and formatted to meet district policies and then delivered into the student information system, resulting in up-to-date records on the first day of school.

The district goal is to have "SNAP" codes on current student's end-of-year grade cards for those parents who may not be able to get a ParentPortal account before the end of the school year, but the best option for a parent is to use their ParentPortal account to complete the registration.

If you do not have a ParentPortal account, please get the code from your child’s school office before school is out for the summer.

Registration will open sometime in early July and we ask that parents complete the registration prior to registration day at the school.  

Completing the online registration does not change the need for your child to attend on registration day, but hopefully will dramatically reduce the amount of time you must spend registering your child.

An active email address is required to register online whether you use the ParentPortal option or not. If you do not have one, you can try a free site like Gmail, Yahoo or Outlook.

If you do not have access to the Internet at home, you can try the local library, or other location.  Also, PowerSchool registration now supports registration on mobile devices.
